What is Panchang?

Panchang has an important role in Muhurta Shastra. If a person does his work every day by following the Panchang, then it is beneficial for him. We use Panchang to know the auspicious time for marriage, business, naming ceremony of children, Mundan ceremony and all other 16 rites.

Panchang:

The word Panchang is made up of five words. Panchang means the five main parts of astrology through which the astrologer is able to give his argument about the events of past, present and future. The five elements of Panchang are Tithi Nakshatra Vara Karan and Yoga. According to Vedic astrology, it shows the movement of planets on each day. Panchang has great importance in Hindu calendar and astrology calendar. Panchang has a major role in Muhurta Shastra. Panchang play important role in weather forecast, Planetary movement in solar system etc.It is through Panchang that we come to know about our festivals like Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami. It is with the help of Panchang that we calculate the auspicious time for marriage. The auspicious time for doing any work is determined by Panchang.If a person does his work every day by following the Panchang, then it is beneficial for him. VAAR:

Every day of the week is governed by some planet. To calm or activate any planet, we choose the day of that planet because using the power of that planet on that particular day proves beneficial for us.

Tithi:

According to the Panchang, we divide one month into two parts. The first part is Krishna Paksha and the second part is Shukla Paksha. In Krishna Paksha, the moon keeps on decreasing every day, while in Shukla Paksha, the same moon keeps on increasing. There are 30 tithi in a month, out of which 15 tithi are of Krishan Paksha and the other 15 dates are of Shukla Paksha. One tithi is of 13 degrees and 20 minutes.It can also be called a lunar day. The formation of a tithi depends on the distance between the Sun and the Moon. These tithi are classified into five categories :- Nanda, Bhadra, Jaya, Rikta, Poorna.Nanda is for Joy and Happiness, Bhadra is good to start new work, Jaya is good for victory, Rikta is not good do any work, Poorna is favorable for any kid of work

Nakshatra:

Nakshatra tells about the thought process of a person. According to Vedic astrology, a total of 27 nakshatras are described in our Panchang. By placing these 27 nakshatras in 12 zodiac signs of the horoscope, help us to predict exact predictions about native.The degree of each nakshatra is 13 degrees 20 minutes. Apart from these 27 nakshatras, another nakshatra Abhijit nakshatra has also been given an important place in astrology. Any planet giving its result according to placement of its nakshatra, hence nakshatras have an important role in astrology.Solar eclipse and Lunar eclipse also happen according to these tithi and it has a direct impact on humans and every living creature in this world.

Karan:

Half of the tithi is called Karan. There are 11 Karans in Vedic astrology. Four Karans are fixed and other seven Karans are movable. Each Karan has different effects on different people. Many astrologers give their predictions about the financial benefits of a person on the basis of Karan.

  • Fixed Karan : Kitughana, Chatuspada, Sakuni and Naga
  • Moveable Karan : Bava Balava, Kaulava ,Taitila, Gara, VaniJ, Visthi
